Few people have left such a mark on history as Alexander the Great.

In the space of just twelve years, he conquered his way from Greece to the Punjab, leaving a trail of destruction and suffering, but also paving the way for a dazzling era which saw a unique cultural blending of Europe, Africa and Asia, known as the Hellenistic Age.
