I wasn’t expecting to be writing quite so soon after announcing our summer programme, but as some of you have asked us about something since then, I hope you’ll indulge us, in case it’s of interest to more of you!

The “something” in question is a visit to our Cabinet of Curiosities* - aka: our archive of recordings.

*[Thieves, Scholars, and Dilettanti/From Sport to Science alumni will remember the wonderful phenomenon of such collections. I think that the above engraving will be enough to give everyone else at least the basic concept!]

As long-standing Denizens may remember, we’ve opened up select items from our archive on occasion, but we’re going even further this time, and opening up our entire 2022 collection!

Yup - that’s right! Not with us way back then? With us then but did other courses instead and fancy something we’ve not yet repeated? Wanted to do something this term but couldn’t fit it in? …Well here you go!

We’ve pulled eighteen courses (…I know… EIGHTEEN!!) from our archive shelves, all of which will be available for you to enjoy at your leisure right away or over the summer. All recordings will be available until 22 September 2024.

Two quick practicalities. First, as a reminder in case you’ve not yet viewed one of our recordings: Q&A/discussion elements are edited out, for data protection reasons. What remains is a full set of Robertian Pearls of Wisdom (TM) on your chosen subject[s]. Secondly, do, of course, ignore the original dates on each course details page. Your recordings will be available as soon as we’ve sent confirmation of your registration.

Access to any course is a flat single person rate, as per each course (even if there will be two of you watching).

So without further ado, voila, a headline menu of what we’re opening up…

Alas our website host won’t allow me to do direct links to the course details pages here.

To see details of each course, click here, and follow the links.

Alternatively, if you instantly know what you’d like, you can access anything in our 2022 archive by heading to our Registration Form, selecting the Cabinet of Curiosities option (RJW A2403), and telling us in the message the course[s] you’d like (or, if you’d prefer, just complete a contact form message or email me!).

And as I’m here… a quick housekeeping notice.

Our imminent 7-weeker, Soldiers of Christ: Templars, Hospitallers, and Teutonic Knights, is indeed starting this Monday, Bank Holiday notwithstanding.

Shameless, moi? Etc etc…

And no… it’s not too late to register if you’d like to and just haven’t got round to it yet. And yes… all sessions will, as ever, be recorded, so if you have Bank Holiday plans, you’ll be able to catch up at leisure.

Finally, in the interests of fair advertising under the Trade Descriptions Act, I cannot guarantee that each of the Curiosities depicted in our illustration at the top of this post will feature in any of your courses. I do not, for example, recall any crocodiles. But there was a spate of courses which, entirely coincidentally, mentioned camels, which we hope will compensate for the dearth of crocodiles….
